Searching for an affordable dsl isp?

The typical telephone lines have lots more capacity to carry data than it actually does. Human voices cover a frequency range from 0-3400 Hertz. This is very small comparing to the stereo speakers reaching limits up to 20K Hertz. The fact remains that a very small portion of the wire is used with voice alone. So without causing interference DSL allows digital transmission of data as well. Therefore, it allocates simultaneous use of your phone and the internet through the same phone line at the same time by using a low pass filter which separates the two different signals.

In order to qualify for this type of internet service your access location must be within approximately 15,000 feet from your telephone providers central office. The closer you are to that CO, the better your signal, the faster your upload and download speeds.

Unfortunately, if you live in a mostly unpopulated rural or remote area, your local phone provider will not have a CO, or central office, located close enough for you to utilize DSL. There simply is not enough profit when the volume for service is not there.

If indeed you are within that 15,000 required foot distance, you can receive DSL interent service from not only your local phone provider, but from a number of nationwide dsl providers as well. It can benefit you to compare availabilty and pricing from as many sources as you can.

It can be difficult and very time consuming to find good, low priced dsl service these days, though access is pretty much available in every major city. Providers are continually broadening the areas they serve on a daily basis though. Pricing and packages features do vary though.

How would you like to un-complicate your search for reliable high speed internet?

Find and compare DSL ISP availability in your area now.

Do all DSL ISPs provide equal service? I don't think so.
